My journey to Bikram yoga started with a pain in the knees.
 I had the option to either live with the pain, when too intense, appease it with pain killers, or consider surgery of the right knee.
My friend's advice, to me, in considering my options, was that in the matter of my own health, I am the pilot not the doctor.
 My decision was to give Bikram yoga a try: 5 days a week for a whole year.
That decision was life changing for me, a point of no return. Bikram yoga has inspired, enlightened and influenced me in so many
ways. I have become more patient and more understanding, while listening to others; it has also improved my mental health in a profound way. And the best of knees are pain free!I teach a class with clear dialogue encouraging each student to do the correct form for each posture, while providing support and discipline

Onkar Hundle

Energy and Charisma is what you feel when talking and walking into Onkar's class. Funny and compelling to challenge you to get to the next level is Onkar's style!
Onkar completed teacher training in Fall of 2009 and it changed his whole life for the better. Onkar started doing Bikram’s Yoga in 2003 as a way to heal his stomach ulcer and back problems from sports and weight lifting injuries. After a few months and a 30 day challenge, his ulcer healed and his back felt a lot better! Onkar truly believes that through this Yoga practice, you heal your mind, body and soul. As Bikram says “Yoga makes you who you truly are.”

Aileen Nguy

I started yoga in 2008 after a friend suggested it could help with my knee pain. I had been suffering since my early 20s and couldn’t accept that I would have to live the rest of my life like that. To this day, my first class is still one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had as it has changed my life in so many profound ways. I believe so deeply in this practice and my passion only continues to grow. In 2013 I attended the Fall teacher training in LA. I had no idea what kind of journey was upon me when I graduated. Since the day I step foot in that training, I have been so grateful for all the things I’ve learned and all the people who have been a part of such an important part of my life. I only want to share my love of the practice with others hoping it will help them the way it has helped me. Watching people reach their potential and prospering in the classroom is what makes me want to continue to teach and learn all there is to know about this yoga. I will continue to be a lifelong practitioner of this sequence and would love for you to join me in changing your life too! Love and light dear yogis.

Candice Lim Hing

Candice loves to learn and is a lifetime student. She started her Bikram journey back in 2004. She had also complete many yoga teacher training such as Yin, Vinyasa, PyroPilates and more. We are proud to have Candice teach PyroPilates and Traditional Hot classes at our studio.

Candice’s practice tips are: breathe and have fun everything else is optional, everyday is different so let go of your expectations and judgements, experiment and get to know yourself physically, mentally and spiritually.

Colin Singh

Colin started his Bikram Yoga practice November 2007. Previous to practicing, Colin had severe health problems due to his weight then some older knee and back injuries.
On his search to find something that would help him lose weight while working with his injuries, he found himself at a yoga studio. With a dedicated practice, he was able to drop over 100 pounds, rid himself of knee and back pain, and then improved his overall quality of health.
After experiencing all the amazing benefits of Bikram Yoga, Colin wanted to further his knowledge and give back to the community by teaching. He attended the Fall 2009 session in Las Vegas and has been teaching since then.

Colin’s practice tips are: focus. Just lock the knee then pick one point on the mirror and put all your focus there, don’t even blink your eyes!

Wancy Sum

This is Wancy and yoga has been a part of her life since 2003. Wancy is proud to say that she received her certification at 54 years of age and she has never looked back! Just like Bikram has been saying: it’s never too late or too old to do Bikram Yoga Through her classes, she has been fortunate to spread her passion for yoga and she encourages her students to dedicate themselves 100% in body and mind. Wancy’s philosophy is to teach from your heart and encourage others to continue learning. Come in and take Wancy’s class, she looks forward to sharing the benefits of yoga with you.

Roxana Mavai

I first discovered Bikram yoga in search of improving flexibility and generalized physical therapy. I had been athletic for quite some time and had accumulated some minor aches and pains in hips and hamstrings as well as intermittent back pain from jogging for fitness and participating in a variety of sports. I had dabbled in some other styles of yoga and discovered the Bikram series through a friend’s recommendation. From the start, I felt a deep connection to this yoga and through a dedicated practice, I experienced healing, alleviation of aches and pains, and general improvement in my health and well-being. The affinity I developed for the yoga led me to pursue training to become a certified teacher and to share my passion with others. My background in medicine and training in radiology provided me with a strong knowledge of anatomy and deep understanding of general physiology as well as pathology. Combined with my own general interests and pursuit of knowledge in the fields of nutrition and exercise physiology, along with the training received from teacher certification, my unique background has helped me to understand the Hatha Yoga postures chosen for this series, and also, why they work individually as well as synergistically in the chosen combination to provide such powerful benefits.

Recently, I was faced with a humbling incident of a serious injury after a fall while skiing, bringing me back to the basics of the physical therapy of this yoga practice which had me nearly fully recovered within 6 weeks of yoga practice as my primary physical therapy. This experience more deeply affirmed my strong connection and belief in this practice.
